Session 10: Video: Fundamentals & Vocabulary

Explore the foundations of Video to enable your organisation to make basic forms of video yourselves, and brief filmmaker vendors more effectively.

The stages of the filmmaking process is broadly broken into four parts:

1. The Script
2. The Filming
3. The Edit
4. The Post Production

This course enables organisations' communication departments and leaders to speak the language of filmmakers more effectively.

Continued from the m01: Content Creation page
A community of 3000 people have come together on MG Road, near all the major media houses, to put pressure on a top university to add courses. There are many people in traditional clothing; some dance and theatre groups; many with loud speakers; all with police support.

Exercise:

Edit a video and do the following:
1. Make your own story based on the above context
2. Do a voice-over or subtitles to tell your story
3. Edit it into a 60-90 second film
4. Add your logo
5. Add any kind of packaging (titles, introduction graphics, etc)

Please note:
The exercises are in the Comms4Dev Handbook (2024 Editon).
